Sales in our local market are down due to a protracted low inventory situation. We are still seeing multiple offers on desirable homes the first weekend they are listed.
What can buyers do to prepare themselves to be ready for that one special house when it finally does come on the market? The West Oak team discusses the many buyer resources we have and how we help buyers feel confident and ready. |

How is everyone doing, and what's been your experience with buyers this past weekend?
Well, I feel the buyers really want to be educated. That's the most important thing. I feel that they need to know about the market, what's available, the mortgages, what's the latest mortgage rate.
I think if you keep them apprised with the market, I think that they feel much more secure about the market and they know when to make an offer. Because you're going to help them with that.
I couldn't agree with that more.
Yeah, I agree too, Kelly - and I think in addition to that, for the newer buyer to the area in particular, I think it's so important to really help them narrow
down what town, what neighborhood, the schools, all things that go into that, so that the moment that they are ready to make that offer and that home comes up because of the competition, they're ready. They're ready to jump.
I agree completely. I find myself educating is the key. You want your buyers to have as much information as possible to understand their likes and their dislikes, so that when that perfect home comes along, they know it and they're ready to go.
They've already done the research on their mortgage. They've already looked into the schools and the general area, and they feel like they're confident in their decision.
And also to talk to the buyers about all the homes that went under contract or that got sold just to educate them on how the market has been. Buyers really need to understand how the market is operating, and with that education, they can make the right decision.
