Sheryl Ritschel, Director of CB Homes New Construction, tells us what's the latest in style for homes, from the Builders' Exposition in Las Vegas.
A lot of things in the way of innovation in electronics, smart home are coming over time.
Also everyone is always interested in their kitchen. The news is white kitchen and neutral kitchens are here to stay. People continue to invest in them because they are a safe investment and it's a large investment. But because styles change so quickly today, what with social media and everybody's telling us what we should be doing and 5 minutes later they've changed what we should be doing.
People are really personalizing, more. So they're using that white or neutral kitchen as a canvas, but they're personalizing in the way of pops of color on
walls, their fixtures, their faucets, things like that.
And one of the big areas is the kitchen island. The kitchen island no longer even has to really be part of or match the kitchen. That's where people are
really having their individuality. You might see different colors, different textures, different materials with hardware, and it's really become a new furniture piece because it's highly utilized. It's not just for eating. It's used all day, every day. It's just part of the living area.
