Township Requirements to Close a Home Sale in ​Basking Ridge, NJ

The Township requires the seller to bring two documents to your home closing when you are selling your home. 
  • Fire Inspection - The fire department will inspect your home and issue a Certification of Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detectors and Fire Extinguisher from the Bureau of Fire Prevention. You must create a (free) portal with the town to request an appointment.

  • CRC - Construction Records Clearance certificate must be issued from the Code Enforcement Division, which shows you have no open permits. You may download this CRC document from home.
